Just get shm to do your lineart :D Anyway, here's how I did the colors:

As long as your colors fit nicely with eachother you can organise them by their luma value (perceptual brightness) in a single ramp, then work on the image while focusing on brightness and light sources instead of hues (this can also work if you make a greyscale image and then color it in). You can skip using some colors in the ramp for different objects (I did this with the background elements).

Idk if this works as well outside of pixel art.
